Bloq has been selected as one of nine startups to receive funding under India’s National Quantum Mission, becoming the only company chosen under the Foundation for Quantum Computing and Information hub at the Indian Institute of Science. The Bengaluru-based firm will use the support to develop quantum software and algorithms aimed at enterprise adoption.
The National Quantum Mission expanded its startup cohort from 8 to 17 ventures, targeting indigenous capabilities across quantum computing, communication, sensing, and materials. Bloq joins a diverse group working on applications ranging from quantum biosensors for disease detection to atomic memory systems and precision electronics.
Quantum software remains a nascent but critical layer, bridging theoretical quantum computing power with real-world business problems.
India’s quantum push comes as governments worldwide race to secure technological advantage in this field. With 17 startups now supported and infrastructure projects advancing ahead of schedule, the mission is positioning India as a serious player in the quantum technology landscape.
