Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has launched construction of a new manufacturing facility in Bengaluru that will boost its India production capacity by 30 percent. The 50,000-square-meter campus is set for completion in 2027 and represents a greenfield investment aimed at consolidating operations under one roof for the first time.
The site will house 30,000 square meters of production space dedicated to PTFE products, rotary shaft seals, mechanical face seals, and polyurethane-based solutions. Beyond manufacturing, the facility integrates research and development labs, application engineering, a customer solutions centre, supply chain operations, and global IT services.
Trelleborg first set up shop in Bengaluru in 2005 and has grown steadily by focusing on localization and proximity to customers. The new campus is designed to meet global certification standards including AS/EN 9100, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001, positioning the company to serve aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, and semiconductor sectors.
Many other companies like SKF and Parker Hannifin also expanding their engineering footprint in the region.
